Who is responsible

This website, taskforce.lv, is run by smitcom (smitcom.lv), Latvia, the company behind the TaskForce service. smitcom is the controller of the personal data described here.

For any question about your data, write to hello@taskforce.lv.

This policy covers the website only. Data that customers and their vendors put into the TaskForce application is handled under the customer's agreement with smitcom.

The short version

  • You can read the whole site without giving us any personal data.
  • We learn who you are only if you send the contact form or write to us.
  • Analytics is optional and stays off until you accept it.
  • We do not sell personal data and the site shows no advertising.

Contact form and email

When you send the contact form we receive what you put into it: your name, company, work email address, whether you want a call or a founding customer place, the monthly spend range you pick, your message if you write one, and the language of the page you were on.

We use it to answer you, to arrange a call and to prepare an offer if you ask for one. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

The form is sent to the TaskForce application, which smitcom hosts in Latvia, and our team is notified so that someone can reply. Your IP address is not saved with the message. It is used briefly to limit how many messages one address can send, and is then deleted.

The form also has a hidden field that people never see. It only helps us discard messages sent by scripts.

Where the form opens your own email program instead, or when you write to us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write.

We keep enquiries for as long as it takes to deal with them and for any business relationship that follows. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Analytics

When analytics is switched on for this site, a panel asks whether you accept Google Analytics. Nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set unless you accept. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga and collects usage data, such as the pages you view, the device and browser you use and your approximate location. We use it only to understand how the site is used. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside the European Union, including in the United States.

You can withdraw your consent at any time under Analytics settings at the bottom of every page. Analytics then stops, its cookies are deleted and the page reloads. Data already sent to Google before that cannot be recalled.

What is stored in your browser

The site keeps two small entries in your browser's local storage. Neither is sent to us.

  • Your choice of light or dark theme, until you clear it.
  • Your analytics choice, for 180 days, after which the site asks again.

The site's own code sets no cookies. The only cookies are those of Google Analytics, and only after you accept.

Hosting

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. We do not use this data to identify visitors.

Fonts and images are served from the site itself. Unless you accept analytics, your browser contacts no other company while you read it.

Who receives your data

Your data is seen by the smitcom team that answers enquiries and by the providers named above: Cloudflare for hosting and, only if you accept analytics, Google. We do not sell personal data or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict its use or object to it, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@taskforce.lv.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Latvia that is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv).

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
